The Belle Vernon Area Ministerium is made up of clergy from all denominations in the area. These clergy meet monthly to plan community-wide ecumenical services and to discuss and act on issues that are important to the community. The Ministerium offers a Thanksgiving Service on Thanksgiving Eve; a service of Lessons and Carols on the Third Sunday of Advent; Liturgy & Lunch on the Wednesdays of Lent; and two Good Friday Services - a preaching service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., and a Tenebrae Service in the evening.
This year the Ministerium held special Liturgy & Lunch services on Wednesdays in October to bring the community together in prayer concerning the substance abuse problem plaguing our community.
The Ministerium also offers a free meal on Thanksgiving Day and runs the Rostraver Food Bank, which provides food for over 200 families each month.
