BLESSING OF CHILDREN:  It wasn't until the 15th century that the daisy began to appear as a common symbol in Christian art.  It is most often used as a symbol of innocence and of the Christ Child.  The daisy is much less exotic than the lily, which was an already established symbol of purity being used in Christian art, so the daisy was thought by some to be a more fitting symbol to represent the baby Jesus.
