Saint Sebastian Catholic Church - Stained Glass Windows

BAPTISM:  Although this small room is now used for votive candles, when the church was first built it served as the baptistry.  The symbols on the window all reflect this emphasis on baptism.  The shell (usually a scallop or cockle shell) coupled with water is a symbol of baptism generally, and especially of the baptism of Christ.  The dove is symbolic of the Holy Spirit.
