Diocesan Catholic Committee on Boy Scouting
The
Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting for Boys is an appointed
group of religious and lay Scouters of both the Roman Catholic and Eastern
Catholic churches who promote and execute a religious program for youth
involved with the Boy Scouts of America. The committee meets quarterly.
Part of this program consists of four different religious emblems for
boys from first grade through 20 years old and one religious emblem
program for girls 15 through 20. There are separate awards for
Catholic-sponsored units and adults that promote the religious program.
Occasionally there are other awards and activities offered by the National
Catholic Committee on Scouting (TM). To execute this program we
give promotional talks at unit, district, council and diocesan levels.
For the young people we hold an annual retreatoree and convocation.
For the adults we hold classes for emblem moderators/facilitators. We
also do training in spiritual formation.

Diocesan Catholic Committee on Girl Scouting
We, the
Catholic Committee on Scouting for Girls of the Office for Youth
and Young Adults in the Diocese of Greensburg, are volunteers dedicated
to the advancement of the spiritual and Catholic dimension of the Girl
Scout program. With the girls in mind this is accomplished through the
religious emblems, recognition, adult training and spiritual events
that enhance the Girl Scout ideals.
