Passion (Palm) Sunday marked the beginning of Holy Week.  Although the weather did not cooperate at most of the Masses, we commemorated the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem by blessing the palm branches and then listened to Matthew's account of the Passion.

Students from our Parish School led us in prayer and mediation as they portrayed the Stations of the Cross in our Church on Monday, March 17.  Religious Education students were in attendance for this annual religious event.  Please click here for more pictures.

On Holy Thursday morning, we continued the tradition of parishioners participating in the Chrism Mass at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg.  Bishop Bosco blessed the oils for the celebration of the Sacraments and the priests of the Diocese renewed their commitment to priestly service.  Our own Deacon Gilbert Exume assisted Bishop Bosco throughout the liturgy.

The Easter Vigil Mass was held on Holy Saturday night.  This was the first Mass for Easter as we celebrated the Resurrection of the Lord.  At this Mass, our Catechumens, Kaleena Richardson and Nicky Graham, celebrated the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist), and our Candidate, Robert Patterson, was confirmed and shared with us for the first time in the Eucharist.  We gathered outdoors between the church and the school to begin the Vigil with the blessing of the new fire and then processed into church.  A reception in the Parish Hall followed this Mass to celebrate and welcome those who were full received into the church through the Easter Sacraments.  Please click here for more pictures.
