Ethnic Fest

Our first-ever Parish Ethnic Fest was a huge success.  We were overwhelmed with a crowd and ran out of food quite early, but it was a delightful afternoon.  The Parish Hall was filled with beautifully-decorated booths and wonderful aroma of culinary specialties.

We would like to thank the Ethnic Fest Committee, who planned and cooked; those who donated foods and baked goods; and those who brought in the wonderful memorabilia for display to share with all.  Special thanks to Father Lawrence and D.J. Jared Frederick, for providing musical entertainment; and the Scouts for all their help throughout the day.  We also thank Gene Lancas, our Cantors and Choir for the special ethnic hymns that added a lovely touch at the weekend Masses.  Special acknowledgement to D & D Foods, Belle Vernon American Legion, Val’s Beer Distributing, and Wendy’s.

Thanks to all parishioners and guests for attending and enjoying our Fest, hopefully laying the groundwork for future celebrations!

Americana Quilt Raffle

A hand-made quilt has been donated to our Parish for raffle.  The quilt was machine-pieced by parishioner Kathy LaScala, and machine-quilted by the Finishing Touch in Venetia.  It measures 82" x 98" and is in patriotic red, white and blue with a scrap star design.

The quilt was raffled during our Ethnic Fest.  The winning number was 386864, and it has been claimed.  Our thanks again to Kathy for donating this hand-made quilt.  Her handiwork and generosity contributed $727 to the Sewage Project!  Thanks also to all who purchased raffle tickets!
